As I mentioned, most everything in London shuts down on Christmas Day. The airport is open, but good luck getting there – no trains, no taxis – but you can hire a car for about the price of a water taxi in Venice! So what a nice surprise to find Bella Italia open down the street from our hotel! We had eaten at a Bella Italia at Exeter, where they have “the best pepperoni and chili pizza”, so every time we passed one in London, Trevor wanted to go. (15-year-olds can be quite persistent! Annoying comes to mind.) An unexpected Christmas treat for Trevor. The wait-staff was having way too much fun! They were dancing and laughing. They gave us crackers – inside were paper crowns, a joke, and a little puzzle. And a disposable camera. The place was packed with Christmas revelers, all wearing their paper crowns! It was one of our best meals and certainly one of the most enjoyable! To the people at Bella Italia – Buon Natale and Grazie!
