Hmmm… so perhaps I overreacted just a little bit. The immigration officer barely looked at Trevor’s passport upon exiting Indonesia. Apparently the $200 was sufficient. Although Singapore seems to have difficulty with Trevor’s almost-expired passport as they reminded us once again that it needs to be renewed. I must say I don’t love Singapore. They’re not very friendly, having taken away four people before us for passport-related issues, and their signs “Certain death to drug traffickers” are just plain scary. Plus, where do they now stand on the whole gum-chewing thing?
But it is nice to be home. Why is it that I didn’t worry for a second that Japan would let Trevor enter? I just feel safe here. But, after the unpacking, laundry, and ordering something for dinner, I’m going to look into his passport.
